FAQs
What’s the difference between coaching and therapy?
Coaching and therapy help clients set goals, learn skills, and plan for future success. Both offer a safe, structured environment that provides clients with support and accountability. Differences arise regarding educational and professional qualifications.
Psychotherapists must hold an advanced degree and a clinical license, as they provide mental health diagnosis and treatment. Many life or motivational coaches undergo extensive training and certification, although these are not always required. Therapy is typically covered by medical insurance, while life coaching is not.
Whether you choose to work with a coach or a therapist, finding a qualified professional and developing a positive rapport is essential
